Deputy Chief Minister G Parameshwara on Tuesday warned that those responsible for attacking Greater Bengaluru Authority (GBA) employees during the civic body’s encroachment drive in Bengaluru will face strict legal action.

Ten people have been arrested for attacking officials who were clearing alleged encroachments as part of the government’s ‘Safe Footpath’ campaign. These include: Kotresh, 24; Bharath H, 24; Raghu, 28; Ranjan N, 19; Mujaid Mohammed, 39; Pampan, 23; Rangaswamy, 49; Kiran S Nayaka; Basaraj, 28 and Parashuram, 27. 

“Many people have appreciated this drive throughout the country... If somebody has attacked those officers, they'll definitely face the law." Parameshwara told reporters.
